Apologies for the lack of Blogging

Sorry everyone for the lack of blogging recently, I have been without Internet for a week and it has killed me! Anyway, I'm back now, and my latest blog is on the farce that was the 2nd goal in the Man U v Tottenham game yesterday evening. Again, Mark Clattenburg was the referee involved and although the decision this time wasn't quite as bad as the one shown in the picture below, it was still a shockingly bad decision.

By the way, for those who never saw this incident a few years back, this was not given as a goal despite the ball being 3 feet behind the line.

Mark Clattenburg is apparently one of the best referees in the country, yet all he does is come across as arrogant on the pitch and a bit of a twat off it. I'm hoping he gets reprimanded for this one.

John out!

Saturday night saw a lot of improvements in the X Factor performances, but still not a patch on previous years.

Tonight's results show was very entertaining thanks to the fantastic voice of Michael Buble. He sang his new song 'Hollywood'. Cheryl Cole also performed, which was also a good performance, mainly visually!

When the results came, John and Trayc were in the sing-off. Despite his best efforts, John made a mess of his cover of 'Because of You', forgetting the words in places and generally singing it terribly.

It came as no surprise then when he was voted out of the competition. He said at the end that this isn't the end for him, but I think we all know it is......

The Weekend has Arrived!!

At last, the weekend! Not much to report in this blog as I will summarise my weekend in the photo's below!

Have a good weekend everyone!!

Rooney U-turn!

Well, what a strange few days it has been in the world of Wayne Rooney. As I posted earlier in the week, Wayne Rooney publicly came out and said that he was seeking a move away from Manchester United. This led to a flurry of media speculation and response, my personal favourite being Ian Holloway (Blackpool Manager and my Mum's classmate at school)'s rant at Rooney, which can be viewed using the link below:

http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,16426_6458632,00.html

Anyway, all of this speculation has now been ended in a bizarre turnaround by the England striker, who has today signed a new 5-year contract with Manchester United, with Rooney becoming the highest paid player in United's history earning a reported £180,000 a week.

With this strange saga complete, my personal opinion is although Rooney has pledged his commitment to the club, he made a big mistake in the way this was handled and took some very bad advice from his agent. Not only does it look like he has come crawling back with his tail between his legs; he has also offended all of his team mates by stating that the club wasn't strong enough anymore.

It will be interesting to see how the season unfolds for Rooney now. Personally, after all that has happened, I hope he has a miserable season and gets the criticism he deserves from United fans, pundits and the media. Throwing your toys out the pram is not only immature, but highly unprofessional. Perhaps Rooney should learn from Steven Gerrard, who seems to suffer in silence as the great player he is watches his beloved team get worse and worse every year.

All about Bale

My prediction last night for the Tottenham v Inter Milan game was unfortunately miserably wrong, and Spurs were nearly embarrassed. However, that embarrassment was spared by one man.....Gareth Bale.

The man on his left, Aaron Lennon, also had an awesome game, but despite the loss Bale stole the show with an excellent 2nd half hat-trick. Two questions are now asked?

If Bale is not, who is the best left sided player in the world?

Can Spurs keep hold of him?

My personal opinion......yes he is the best in the world at present, and I certainly hope we keep hold of him!!

Tottenham Hotspur v Inter Milan

Tonight is the big one for all Spurs fans out there, myself included. Tottenham face the biggest game in the clubs recent history as they face the current European Champions, Inter Milan.

Although it may sound daunting, I am very confident ahead of tonights match. Yes Inter are the European and Italian champions, but it must be remembered that the standard of Italian football has declined massively. The Premier League and La Liga are without doubt the best leagues in Europe, with some debate over which is number 1. For me personally it is the Premier League.

The likely line-up for Spurs tonight, in a 4-5-1 formation is:

Gomes, Hutton, Bassong, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto, Lennon, Huddlestone, Modric, Jenas, Bale, Crouch.

That is a very solid line-up, although I personally would like to see Corluka back ahead of Hutton and Palacios instead of Jenas just to add a bit of steel to the midfield.

Anyway, in roughly 3h30m we shall find out how the night panned out for Tottenham.

My prediction.......2-2.

Come on you Spurs!!

Rooney off.........but where?

As I'm sure the majority of you are aware (UK anyway), Wayne Rooney has shockingly announced that he wishes to leave Manchester United. This came as a huge surprise to me especially, as I thought despite the media attention it would all blow over and he would commit to the club. Obviously I was very wrong, and although I was shocked, when you look at the Man U squad now, you can't blame him for wanting out.

Although still pretty strong, the squad is becoming increasingly average every season and other teams are catching up with them. This is mainly down to the lack of quality replacements for the golden era players (Scholes, Giggs, Neville, etc) and of course Ronaldo. The majority of teams in the Premiership now no longer fear Man U and go out to win games, typically shown with West Brom last weekend, who drew 2-2 but could have won the game late on.

I personally think Man U should capitalise on this whilst they can, and ship him to Madrid. Real have quality players seemingly surplus to requirements, and with Man United's lack of spending power they could benefit from a deal that is rumoured to involve Lassana Diarra and Karim Benzema plus cash.

It is going to be a very interesting January transfer window, and I shall be following this story very carefully!!

The Inbetweeners!

Monday night means one thing......the Inbetweeners!!

Anyone a fan? I absolutely love this program, such a shame this is the last one of the series!

Perfect way to top off a long day at work!

Sunday 17 October 2010

X Factor....what else to watch on a Sunday morning?!

Up surprisingly early after a heavy nights drinking and of course I've had to put on the X Factor from Saturday night! Not much to say about it as the majority of acts are rubbish this year, and although Mary was very good, Matt stole the show for me again!

What did everyone else think of the show? Matt to win for me at the moment, and I love the Bruno Mars song he covered!!

Great result!

Just arrived home from my game this afternoon which was a very hard-fought but well deserved win!

Went 1-0 down early in the first half but got back to 1-1 just before half-time, then 2nd half we came out flying and got our rewards with about 15 minutes remaining when I put a lovely ball through to our central midfielder who ran on and slotted past the keeper making it 2-1. A penalty made it 3-1 and we killed it at the end with a breakaway goal, finishing the game 4-1 and worthy winners!

On a personal note, was very pleased with my performance, 90 minutes at centre-half, and just to top it off, Tottenham won 2-1 today as well!

Now time to go out and celebrate!

Living for the Weekend!

I think it's only now I am a fulltime worker that I can fully appreciate how good a weekend feels!

Don't think I really need to say much more, this song says it all....

Enjoy the song and your weekend!!

In need of a money-making scheme!

Half way through the month now and I am struggling big time for money. Don't get paid till the 28th, which will be very nice when I do get paid, but for now it sucks as I am broke! Am supposed to be going out on the weekend, but at the moment it looks doubtful, unless I can win some money in the mean time. Think I'm going to have to have a search online and see if I can find any short term money making ventures!

Anyone got any ideas for me, or are just feeling generous and wish to give me some money?!?!?!

Freekicks, what a nightmare!

So, I'm not sure how many of you have FIFA 11 or play it, but one thing this year that is very difficult is taking freekicks. I struggled for a while to find out how to take them, and I'm still by no means a master, however, for good tips check out this site:

www.fiftips.com

It is very helpful with all aspects of the game, and very well recommended!

Right, back to my practice!

Tuesday 12 October 2010

Football, Football, Football!!

Back from another day at the office and am looking forward to my training session later! Didn't have a game on the weekend so am just looking to have a kickabout and get a bit of fitness up.

On a professional football side of things, I'm afraid I don't have any betting tips for you this week as the majority of international games aren't worth betting on. Fear not though, I'll be back with tips for the games coming on the weekend!

Monday 11 October 2010

First day of the Week

Monday monday.....never nice getting up at 7am, but low and behold, the day is done and I'm now back in my living room playing on FIFA11! Good day, got a fair bit of work done, unfortunately quite a dull day though so not much to blog about today I'm afraid! However, fear not, I'll be back on later with my betting tips for the International Football matches tomorrow. Everyone have a good day?

Sunday 10 October 2010

Sunday Funday

Although this post is named after the Sundays I had working at camp over the summer, today is Sunday and I'm not sure how to spend it. I think I'll chill out all day and watch a few episodes of Dexter. Not a lot else going on, and aside from a few chores I have nothing to do. Anyone got any suggestions for me?

Saturday 9 October 2010

Saturday

Today will by far be the most relaxing Saturday I've had in a while, probably since I was living in the US. It is now 12pm here (UK) and I have just rolled out of bed, am chilling listening to a bit of music and am about to play some FIFA. My football team don't have a game this week so I don't need to head to our ground for 1pm like normal, and tonight I don't think many of us are up to much, so looks like a date with a take away and the X Factor! Slightly sad, but it's mildly entertaining. Still gutted Gamu went out though. What are your plans for the weekend?

Friday 8 October 2010

The Weekend!

At last, the weekend has arrived!! First week of the new job done, and it's safe to say I have a new found appreciation for the weekend. Not much planned yet as have no football match this week, so think I'm going to chill, play some PS3, and of course have a few beers. Anyone up to anything exciting this weekend? Or, have any ideas for me of anything I can do?

Thursday 7 October 2010

FIFA or PES???

Tough decisions to make, FIFA11 or PES 2011?!? I've bought FIFA already, and I do like it, but I really like the demo of PES. Take a look at the trailer (link below).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8FNkit3wBc

Let me know your thoughts!

Nearing the End

Thursday is a nice feeling, as it is only 2 more working days til the weekend! Tomorrow will be far more laid back as the weekend will be upon us once more, and since starting my new job I have a whole new appreciation for the weekend. Not got much planned as of yet but I'm sure that will change as time progresses. As for the new job, once Friday comes that will be 1 week down, 12 remaining of my 3 month contract. Will keep plugging away to get that money in though! Anyone got any plans for the weekend?

Wednesday 6 October 2010

Good day at the Office, now time to relax though!

Today was a good day at work, went by fast, and cycled home as usual. Am now chilling out playing on some FIFA11, anyone got that game yet? I'm still undecided about it, may switch to Pro Evo. We shall see though.

Bright and Early Start

Up bright and early again, for now my 3rd day in the new job. Already starting to get a bit repetitive, and not too sure if this job is for me, but hey, gets the money in for the time being whilst I look for something else. Anyone else have any ideas on money making ventures? Open to all suggestions!

Tuesday 5 October 2010

Johnstones Paint Trophy

Have just noticed football matches on this evening and am thinking about having a little flutter. Anyone got any tips? Anyone have any betting tips in general for their preferred sport? Will listen to all if it's a good tip!!

Cycling - A real time saver

2nd day at work today, and for the first time I decided to cycle in. Turned out to be a very good choice as only took me 20 minutes to get in compared to the hour it takes on the bus getting in to the city centre. Will definately be doing this from now on. Just a shame it is a bit tiring on the way back (it's mostly uphill). Oh well, saves money and gets me fit! Roll on football training tonight!

Monday 4 October 2010

Great end to the night

What better end to the night? Roast dinner, ab workout (see link below), and then the Inbetweeners!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNqrkGnkUWc&p=2E05E2DE350D0297&playnext=1&index=55

Let me know how you get on with it!

First day

First day at work today, went well thankfully, training week so I'm only working 10-4 which is very nice! Even better than being let go at 3.30 though was the news that Europe had won the Ryder Cup! Wish I'd watched it, looking forward to highlights later! Did anyone watch the golf?

Sunday 3 October 2010

At last, good weather!

I haven't blogged this, but I recently returned to the UK following a 3 month summer in the US. I worked in Hamilton, NY for 2 months, before travelling around California and then hitting Vegas and NYC to see some friends before returning back home. Have been a bit down looking at the miserable weather here, but at last, it's brightened up!

Now the next chapter begins, new job starting tomorrow...

Not as planned....

The inspiration of the Ryder Cup for my round on Saturday morning unfortunately did not pay off, as I was very poor. Bit more practice needed at the range I think. Anyone else play golf?

On a plus note, made up for my poor golf performance with a good 20 minute sub appearance for my football team, coming on and creating 3 goals giving us a 6-1 win.

What better way to then celebrate than with a night out. Tired and slightly hungover now...

Friday 1 October 2010

Inspiration

The Ryder Cup has inspired me.....golf at 8am tomorrow morning. Will the weather hold out? I hope so!

Ryder Cup

Bit disappointed by the Ryder Cup, not much that can be done about the weather though. Had a full day off to watch as well. What did you think of the limited match play? Or, if not a golf fan, how about this weather?!

Betting Tips for the Weekend

Slightly tricky weekend this week for betting, which only means that there is more money to be made. My tips for the weekend are:

Birmingham v Everton - Draw
West Ham v Fulham - Draw
Swansea v Derby - Swansea
Ipswich v Leeds - Ipswich
Notts County v Sheff Weds - Notts County

5 fold accumulator, £10 bet returns £910. Odds 90/1.
